Joybringer Pinkie Pie by Rhanite Joybringer Pinkie Pie by Rhanite
Pinkie's Gold Faction Sideral Exalted character - of course she'd play a Sidereal - they don't make any sense either... and they ignore the laws of physics (and/or rewrite them) for a living. They're also great characters for the game master to secret into the group as a behind-the-scenes ally.

During the First Age, the Chosen of Serenity advised the Solar Deliberative on the health and well-being of Creation's millions of mortals.

It seems to me that Pinkie Pie is more of an Infernal than a Sidereal. After all,
"Eternal chaos comes with CHOCOLATE RAIN you guys! CHOCOLATE RAIN!"
She might be a Fiend caste, so she can take a few Sidereal charms. But overall, I'd say her abilities suggest some serious Adorjaning. Racing Vitalis when chasing Rainbow Dash? Giggle at the Ghosties: Broken Silence Laughter Defense? And of course, Pinkie Pie Swear is her anima power in effect.
Just a thought.

Pinkie just doesn't strike me as the type of pony to want to bring Hell to Creation and cast it into the hands of the twisted and insane Yozis.

Well, then maybe she'll take the Devil-Tiger charms and become her own Primordial. Her powers still strike me as more chaotic and insane than manipulating fate. She doesn't seem to understand why things do what they do, just that they do it. Maybe she's picked up a few Sidereal charms with her Fiend anima power. Don't forget that a lot of the fourth-wall-breaking powers are also found in the Ebon Dragon's charm tree.

I'm going to have to have to stand by my choice as a Sidereal - I find it making more sense than an Infernal or somesuch.

(late, I know)

In fairness, while Green Sun Princes sign up to bring Hell to Creation, it's established canon that a healthy number of them reconsider their choice, or just outright dump the Reclamation like a hot potato for one reason or another - with one such possibility being that GSP meeting their Lunar mate. (witness Return of the Scarlet Empress, in which one of the later chapters has a picture taking up half a page of bondage nun - sorry, Sulumor - snogging Strength of Many.) Pinkie may have had an episode - perhaps involving 'Pinkamena' - where she did, indeed, agree to bring Hell to Creation. But later on, after emerging from her Chrysalis Grotesque, she found her loyalty to that cause... dwindling.

Mind you, you'd have to consider what Pinkie's Urge would be if she were a GSP. And also her Limit Break. Having returned my misprinted copy of MoEP:Infernals and having not found a replacement that doesn't cost £silly, I don't have enough information to even hazard a guess.

Okay, so Trevor has seen and loved ALL of the ponified pictures, but the time has come for Trevor to ask a stupid question: What is Exalted? A video game, an MMO, a TV Series, what?

It's a tabletop game system from White wolf. Byt tabletop I mean like Dungeons and Dragons... dice and storytelling and all that jazz. What exalted does is feature players as reborn heroes of old with godlike powers in an asian-inspired, fantastical world. If you're familiar with cartoons like Naruto, Bleach or One Piece then you have an idea of what its all about.

Hehe I'm pleased. Sidereals are annoying rulebusters in the game (thats what I was brought up to believe anyway) but Pinkie just seems to epitomize everything awesome about them - so I'm starting to like them abit anyway... darn!

From Kkat:

Pinkie Pie... a Sidereal? That makes soooo much sense! ^.^

Serenity's abilities are just so Pinkie too. Including Craft (Parties). I personally believe Pinkie Pie has Awareness as a favored ability ("It was under 'E'!") Probably some odd points in Lore too. (She knew what parasprites were on sight after all.)

I'd like to add that I love the color scheme you used for her here. Hot pink can be tough to design around, but the purplish aura and the muted blue cloak make her pop really well without "the clothes wearing her". As cool as the others look (and I absolutely love Fluttershy's robes -- I played a Zenith myself), this is my favorite outfit.

Also, I only just noticed the stars in her eyes. Nice detail!

Oh man, the episode where she's chasing Rainbow Dash totally works with their charms too!

Virtue: Compassion
Flawed Fate: Joybringer's Flawed Fate

Did Pinkie somehow pick up a Virtue Flaw too? Or is she just ordinary crazy?...

Well, this is a tricky one.

Since Joybringers' Flawed Fate drives them to advocate, seek or cause moments of extreme happiness, Pinkie seems to Limit Break rather often.

By this logic, she is "just" ordinary crazy.

Thoughts?

I think she might be a fairly serious and dedicated Sidereal for a Joybringer, living in Ponyville under a goofy, party-fixated Resplendent Destiny. Her behaviour is certainly insanely exaggerated enough to be a "Fate Costume", and everypony in town wouldn't remember her if she was letting the Arcane Fate show (Unless she had just the biggest Acquaintances background EVAR.).

Her spying on the Circle and seeing them apparently be sneaky jerks over and over could have been blow after blow to an Intimacy to Solars, which breaks when her mane flops. She acts like a jerk to them as a result, violating her Destiny and racking up Paradox...until the Intimacy is rebuilt in record time with some sudden realizations.

The occasional Contrition Rite to vent Paradox (whichever one makes you and causality no longer friends - Wrapped Fly?) would certainly explain her zany antics...

Well, Sidereals all gain limit basically from working against their virtue. She seems to act very carfully to avoid that. I have a feeling we haven't seen Pinkie limit break yet, and if we did... hoo boy. The party to end all parties... possibly literally. (Either that, or the show takes a sharp left turn into NSFW territory. And due to Rule 35 of the Internet, now that I've said that, someone will shortly be working on a clopfic.) Fortunately, there's no way a Sidereal limit break could cause her to go all Cupcakes.

On the other hand, one of the options for a Joybringer limit break would be to "seek moments of extreme happiness in their own life". Lacking the participation of her own best friends, she might have been compelled by Fate to invent new ones. I get the feeling her Compassion is pretty high, so the increasingly aggressive efforts to figure out what her friends were up to -- culminating in Spike's interrogation -- might well have provoked enough Limit rolls to break her within the context of that episode all by itself.

Yep, saw the others and did the math with 5 solar casts and 6 ponies, thought to myself "Pinkie Pie should be a Sidereal with her 4th wall breaking abilities," and you nailed her wonderfully! Hehe, it was either that or make her a member of the Fae!

The more yout hink of it, the more similarities you find. I ask you, do we not experience multiple Limit Breaks (Pinkamena, Flutterage) and several occasions of channeling virtues (Compassion 5 channel in Dragonshy)? This is a well of untapped potential I tells ya!

You have no idea how much this fills me with squee. I'm almost wanting to see Nightmare Moon as an abyssal, but debating if that'd really be accurate or not... Heheh, imagining Spike as either a demonic or elemental familiar. And I'm tempted to peg Zecora as a changing moon Lunar. She'd look really neat with the silver tattoos mixed in with her stripes... Hm, but what totem animal?

Ah, the possibilities!

Nightmare Moon seems to me like she's a bit closer to the Ebon Dragon. After all she's more preoccupied with THE EVULZ than with actually getting anything done.

Probably what happens when an Incarna falls in with the wrong crowd.

Oh my, that would be worth addressing wouldn't it now? Luna would have to be an Incarna, like The Unconquered Celestia, but Nightmare Moon could be something like an errant evil Incarna or twisted version of the above... Hmmm... Spike - I was considering drawing him as a Dragon-blooded exalt (he's sentient enough, I'd say)... maybe Fire aspected. Zecora as a Lunar: brilliant! I agree! Totem animal ehh... zebra? hmm... this warrants thought.

Oh oh! Trixie would so have to be an Infernal (Fiend Caste for sure).

I figured Nightmare Moon was something like Five Days Darkness, actually. Maybe the result of a high-Essence Fiend using Dark Claws Seize Dark Hearts on Luna. SOMETHING we can blame on the Shadow of All Things anyway.

Another viable and very good theory - specifically if we see NMM as a sentient taint influenceing Luna, rather than Luna herself.

Ha yes! Yeah, I was just looking over the pieces again and had that moment of "Duh, of course Celestia is the Unconquered Celestia!" and Luna would of course by Luna, probably in her form of the Bloody Huntress with her moonsilver armor and bow. Nightmare Moon could then be her form of the Silver-Horned Watcher perhaps? I could see Nightmare Moon's armor modified to have sickle-like horns. Would certainly make a good goddess of madness and the Wyld!

Zecora - what about a white tiger? Nothing major for her Tell, just slitted eyes or something like that.

Oo, I like your ideas for Spike and Trixie!

Oh, I like the way you think! NMM as the Silver Horned Watcher would be kickass. Keeping them as aspects of Luna is a great idea.

Hm yes, will have to find the right Totem for Zecora. White tiger could be kinda cool, true. Got the colors and stripes allready...

I would think Trixie fits the Air Aspect Dragon-Blood better than the Fiend caste(Infernal Zenith) because first trixies colors suit an Air Aspect being she has a blue coat and white hair and even to some extent her cutie mark. Next being the fact that she has a very arrogant cocky egocentric personality which is common in air aspects where as a Fiend would be more "servile" and friendly corrupting from within. and finally the most obvious reason being trixie's abilitys were far too weak to even come close to matching a Solar and Infernals are corrupted Solars.

As for nightmare moon/luna they could be two aspects of one incarna after all in exalted Luna is a trickster and shapeshifter who often tests her champions before granting her blessing...

Zecora strikes me as more the Wood Aspected Dragon-Blood given her affinity for plants and herbal cures.

spike would probably just be a familiar for Twilight he seems to fit the role of a Familiar quite well but if he was to be an Exalted it would probably be a Wood Aspected Dragon Blood reason being the fire he spouts is green rather than red which either implies wood elemental energy or infernal energy and quite frankly he just doesn't fit the infernal profile... unless you count the way he acts in Owls well that ends well... and his fondness for handle bar mustaches... (infernals are the cliche villians if you ever read the book they actually follow the cliche snidly whiplash villiany)

First off, epic.

Ok, you make a great point with Trixie and I'm inclined to agree (was having similar thoughts when mulling it over earlier today) - she could snugly fit the role of an Immaculate Monk or a snooty Dynast. Your argument regarding her not being as powerful is indeed valid.

Luna is fickle and changing, and Nightmare Moon was aliiiittle pushover-y so yes, I'm inclined to agree there as well.

Technically, Zecora could also be a God-Blood, since her "power" very focused on passive and knowledge based areas, rather than the more potent and in-your-face power of the exalts.

Spike is a toughie - he'd make a fine Terrestrial, but maybe Exalts should be limited to Ponies for the sake of coherency.

:iconaubri:
Aubri Featured By Owner Sep 27, 2011
Well, elementals do turn dragony as they gain age and power. He's only a /baby/ elemental... :D

I would tend to peg Zecora as a Terrestrial exalt, since she lacks shapeshifting (that we've ever seen). Probably Wood, but I'm not as familiar with the ins and outs of the Dragon-Blooded.

On the other hand, if you take the Everfree as a Wyld area, maybe... Her totem was Fennec in the awesome fic "Shaman", so maybe that. I dunno.

Well, we have some creative freedom I'd say...

I just have an image of Spike in Dragon armor, looking badass (of course he'd want that).

I can see where you're coming from with Zecora - she would look cool with Moonsilver Tattoos though... and she does have that "living-on-the-borders" thing going for her, all wisdom and jazz.
